Woah it's been a hot minute! You know when life just seems to catch up with you? Groceries, cleaning, working out, trips home, work, budgeting annnd the list goes on! So obviosuly blogging was put on the back burner.

Unfortuantely my amazing photog (my husband) is wokring this weekend, so I won't be able to catch up on my OOTDs from recent, but here are some of the items to look forward to...

*All the above purchases are from Forever 21*

Sorry for the extremely weird borders! I am struggling today...at least I made it through the week!

Fall Footwear

As the seasons are changing, I am looking to update my wardrobe with a little more coverage in the form of shoes. As fall approaches I have hunted down some fabulous booties (I use that term loosely) that should be added to everyone's closet!

Look of the week #1

I am going to attempt commit to a weekly post that showcases one outfit I would love to add to my closet. This weeks pick is below and brought to you entirely by *gasp* Forever 21 (I can't help that I love a bargain).

TGIF!!! High-five for Friday friends! This weekend is shaping up to be a somewhat busy but not clap-my-hands-exciting one. Paul has to work his first weekend (of many) so Saturday I am getting things checked off my to-do list. Wedding Thank Yous designed/ordered, birthday gift for my brother (long overdue), picking out our guest bedroom decor, shredding all that junk  paperwork I have never gotten around to, and many episodes of private practice/burn notice. Sunday a friend is returning home after an accelerated nursing program and her family is having a get together. So I will make the trek south to attend this and potentially another BBQ hosted by a different group of friends.

What are your weekend plans?

Black, White, and Brown

Pssstt wanna know a secret?

This 'top' is really a dress! I love this dress, but unfortunately it has isn't a length appropriate for work. I have also had this skirt in my closet, with the tag on, for over a year. So I decided to "tuck" the dress into the skirt and ta-da an outfit I am pretty damn proud of!

Skirt- Forever 21 (old) similar

I am learning to push my boundaries because I never would have put brown and black together  prior to starting this blog.  I find myself being much more open minded which makes fashion a lot more fun!

What have you worn that you never thought you would?

Look who joined the party

Better late than never I always say! I may be late to the blogging party about H&M's new online presence, but that hasn't stopped me from browsing the inventory.

Fall is the BEST season in the PNW in my opinion. Summers are great because the temperature is perfect and we have zero humidity. But September to November remain my favorite months up here in Washington. The changing of the leaves from green to reds, yellows, and oranges are breathtaking. The crispness in the air is refreshing. And the most exciting piece of the puzzle for me is the switch from my summer to autumn wardrobe.

Sweaters, boots, leggings, and blazers come racing out of my closet at an alarming speed. I love love fall. Not that I am wishing summer away, but my mind is already fast forwarding and focusing on my autumn must-haves.

H&M has so many options that I want to invest in for fall and here are my top 10 faves:

2.) Love this unique cut in the front of this peplum
3.) Glitter? Yes please!
4.) The texture on this bag is amazing
5.) This print almost looks like leopard...you know I am a fan!
6.) I always make fun of my husbands bad 90s fashion decisions so I feel like I need this!
7.) Chunky knits are a must in fall
8.) Black on Black is a favorite look of mine
9.) Jewel tones are to die for
10.) Love the splash of mustard

Whats your favorite season? Why?

My state's greater than yours

Washington is like California's little sister. Often overlooked when you think of the west coast, but I came up with a few gems that will put Cali in its place!
Whats not to love about the great state of Washington?! Besides the rain, other trademarks are the hippies and the immense amount of green you experience immediately. We eat healthy/organic, don't know what humidity is, and hold Canada up.

Yup, Seattle was the birthplace of this fine corporation. Its not a coincidence that this blog has lattes in the title. You can often find me enjoying a seasonal pumpkin spice during fall, or my staple of  hazelnut americano. Sbux, Tully's, Seattle's Best, we love our coffee up here. And we get bragging rights!

No way Jose. You don't ever, EVER, bust one of these out. True Washingtonians don't even own one. Look at it as one less purchase you have to make.

You like this guy??? You like this song...

Well both of those things came from the great state of Washington! Maybe the song wasn't actually recorded in WA but go with it. I actually share a birthday with this newcomer and while in college a friend dates him. Before he was a big deal, but that's my claim to fame!

Whether you are Team Edward or Team Jacob, the setting take place in rainy ol' Forks, WA. The high school scenes were actually shot in the neighboring town to mine. Now that the books and movies are complete I just don't know what to do with my life. ;)

You like your Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint? Well you can thank the great state of Washington Paul Allen and Bill Gates for those goodies. Along with Internet Explorer. I know my blog editing wouldn't go as cheaply fast or easy without PowerPoint and forget about it without Internet Explorer. I would thank them but I am sure they are perfectly happy with all their katrillionbillionmillions they have in the bank.

We may not have In-N-Out, but Dick's helped me sober up on many occasions in college. When in Seattle you must make a trip! Word on the street is Macklemore's next video features one. YUM

And that my friends is why Washington is amazing. You should probably come visit some time.
PS I may be a little biased...
PPS The formatting may look a little off as blogger is acting up for me right now.
What are a few things you are proud of about your state? Go on, brag!

Dun Dun Dun-Wedding 1 of 3

Yup. Here it is. The first of three posts that displays all those expensive and amazing wedding photos. My photog is quite possibly a genius and makes it extremely difficult to pick a favorite. Instead of jabbering on and on about how much I love these images, I will let the photos do the talking.

So to keep this from exceeding 32847328473284923 pictures in one post I will be doing 3 parts. Getting ready, formals/favorites, and the ceremony/reception. It is so great to reminisce about this day and every time I look through these photos I get a huge cheesy smile on my face. I love remembering what a perfect day it was.

Floral Peplum.

I was slow to jump on the peplum bandwagon simply because I couldn't find one I liked. I found this one the other day at Forever 21 and forced myself to keep an open mind and try it on. I am sure glad I did! This sheer floral print number can be dresses up with my bandage skirt in the fall or thrown on with skinny jeans like I did here.

[Peplum-similar here and here] [Necklace

And these shoes. They deserve their own paragraph! I. Love. Them. When I found them online at Target I waited awhile (too long) to purchase but they kept popping up when I browsed online sites. So I did the deed. They did not disappoint. They are comfy in only the way a wedge can be and they go with everything. I found another dressy black option at Kohl's Saturday that I may have to purchase just so I don't wear these bad boys out. Now the big decision. Buy them in brown too?! Yes please. Expect a lot more appearances of these beauties.

Whats been your best find lately?

Gold and Cream

After posting the 4 looks I would love to rock earlier this week, I realized how much the first look resonated with me. So after a recent purchase from Forever (the top) and other items I already had I threw this feminine look together.

[Top, similar here and here] [Skinnies] [Cuff-similar] [Earrings-only in Silver] [Heels-similar]

As I am a newbie at this (as is my husband, who is my photog), I will slowly learn lighting, posing, and angles. Or lets hope! Happy Friday!!

Ponderings...

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind PAY to run 13.1 miles? Well this girl right here did, but the "right mind" part is questionable. I committed to run a half marathon with my SIL in October. Yup, that's 2 months away. Nope, I haven't been training. You can bet your sweet ass I am now!

I may or may not have eaten a donut while cooking dinner last night. And don't even feel bad about it!

Does anyone else feel like Netflix and Hulu don't have that many options? I was super duper excited to finally use my apple TV only to be disappointed in the TV series and movie options with these 2 streaming subscriptions. Word to the wise Netflix...step yo game up or this girl is cancelling as soon as I finish the most current season of Scandal!

Crop tops? I thought this was a 90s trend that would stay in the 90s?

Her body, I want. Her cropped top...not so much. Props to all you ladies out there that can pull this look off.

Being an adult is hard! I officially have our budget up and running and cant believe all the things we have to plan for. Retirement, vacations, emergencies. Blah! So instead of completely limiting our spending (because this girl would go cray cray) I give both of us an allowance. Back in 5th grade? Yup.

On that note, CHEERS to payday!

And that ends my mindless ramblings on this fine Thursday. I promise an OOTD post tomorrow as I begged my husband to take my pics.

Back on Track

You can blame me, but I blame Comcast. The lack of Internet around here has been infuriating. Especially as I am trying to document all the amazing outfits I have worn to work lately! Not trying to pat myself on the back *pats self on back*, but I am typically a one to two day a week get ready kind of gal.

Lately I have been excited to get up and get ready. Maybe its the sunny days we have been experiencing here in Washington. Maybe its the steam coming off my Visa from excessive online shopping. Maybe its the dress code at my office, or lack thereof. Whatever you wanna call it, I enjoy rummaging through my closet for different ways to wear things and incorporate the new items I buy.

Unfortunately I am waaaay behind on uploading and editing my actual OOTDs. So to keep this little old blog updated with fashion related content, here are a few outfits I have put together of wants and must-haves.

I love the softness of neutrals. I was never much of a girly girl growing up (blame my two older brothers) but now I love the feminine touch of lace and color schemes of nude, cream, and blush. Plus this statement necklace is to die for!

switching from delicate to edgy, some days you just want to throw on black. I love these leather leggings for a rocker piece then adding in the basic top to mellow them out some. these three bracelets makeup the perfect arm candy. And the detailing on the boots and purse add some glam.

Out of all the outfits this is most my style. Or the one I want to throw on right now. graphic tees are so easy and these boyfriend jeans may be making an appearance in my closet real soon. The weather changes so dramatically around here I always carry some kind of cover up like this sweater. The oxford trend is something I want to join in right now!

I am extremely lucky to work at a company where the office atmosphere is casual. I can wear jeans one day and a dress with a vest the next. Wedges are my go to if you haven't figured that out and this color of skinnies is the only one not on my shelf.

Which outfit matches your personality? Happy hump day y'all. Hopefully the week is flying by for you as it seems to be for me!
