Black on Black

[Top-Forever 21] [Skinnies-Target] [Booties-Forever 21]
[Necklace-Forever 21] [Clutch-Forever 21]

First off can I get a high-five for making it through Monday? Whew, glad that's over! Let's just skip right on past Tuesday-Thursday and jump straight to the weekend again. Mmmmkay it's a deal!

Anyways....I never realized how ghostly I was until I wore all black! It is what it is right?!! I tend to gravitate towards more neutral colors and this palette is a favorite of mine. All black is so slimming and chic. I can't help but throw it on with some kind of statement jewelry or fun shoe. Plus it doesn't take much effort on those days I am running behind.

Shoes, Shoes, and more Shoes!

I think this is my 3rd post about Tar-Jay but I just don't care! It really is a magical place. Today I want to focus on shoes. Fall has the best selection of shoes out of all of the seasons. Its still dry enough to wear open-toed heels but its perfectly OK to rock booties too. Here are my faves currently at Target that I hope to make mine soon.

These metallic pointy toe heels can be dressed up or down. I love the snakeskin texture too. I never thought I would use 'love' and 'snakeskin' in the same sentence. What can I say, I am evolving!

Oxfords are so fun! This maroon color helps make them a little more feminine. Great with jeans and a sweater.

Even though these booties have studs on them, they are a great neutral piece. I can see myself throwing them on with a dress and vest while the weather is still nice or with skinnies when it gets colder.

Ahhh the wedge sneaker. I completely hated on these when they first came out. They have definitely grown on me. Comfort and style in a shoe? I'll take a pair stat!

How could I could I name my blog LP&L and not have a pair of leopard print heels on this list?!?  Love the classic round-toe look.

Finally, these wedge booties are a staple in my opinion. They will keep my feet extra dry in the coming wet months without making me compromise on style. Win-win.

Which pair is your favorite? Ill take one of each please...!
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Back to the grind tomorrow. Boo!

Military Vest

The transition from summer to fall has been highly anticipated and discussed all over blog-land. I am no stranger to this anticipation and it is borderline obsession. I love walking out to my car in the morning and feeling that crispness in the air. My wardrobe was created for fall!

I had been on the hunt for a military style vest and FINALLY found the perfect one for me at H&M. Of course it goes on sale the day after I bought it, but it was sooo worth it. I did manage to snag this white blouse from them for $5. Yes, you read that right! Some crazy deal I stumbled upon and capitalized on. Enough of my babble and onto the pictures...

Hellllllo Friday! Wow am I happy to say that! I bet you can all agree. Any weekend plans? I hope you have a great one! Thanks for stopping by.

Two Ways

Ever since I started blogging I have challenged myself to step outside of my comfort zone when shopping. Try trends but make them my own. These black floral velvet skinny jeans (that's a mouthful) from Forever 21 caught my eye and came home with me! They may not seem overly unique but for me it is a step!

To experiment with my new found confidence ;) I tried to create two ensembles.

The first is an edgier look with leather, army green, and spiked heels. I originally wore my hair up for a tougher appearance, but didn't capture it. Its rough being a blogger without a fancy camera! It's on my Christmas list!!

The second is more feminine with a pink blouse and booties. I don't love this look, but live and learn right? I bought this blouse for a tucked in skirt idea and probably will stick with that!

Which one is your favorite? Which trend do you identify more with: edgy or feminine? I don't know about you, but my week is flying by! I hope you are having a fantastic Thursday!! Thanks for stopping by.

Decisions Decisions

Its A-L-M-O-S-T Friday people! How great is that?! Since My hubby has been working 12 hour days and hasn't had the free time to snap my OOTD pics I thought I would link up with Whitney and Erin for a game of This or That .

Vacationing in Florida or vacationing in NYC: Ooooh that's a toughie. I would have to go with NYC. There is just something exhilarating about the big apple.

iPhone or Droid: Is that even a question? iPhone. DUH! I am 110% loyal!!

NSYNC or Backstreet Boys: Backstreet Boys baby. Nick Carter was my man! Many nights in Jr. High were topped off blasting these guys.

Being forced to delete Facebook or being forced to delete Twitter: Well seeing as how I already deleted Facebook and don't really use twitter it doesn't really apply. Love my Instagram though!

Fireball or Miller Lite: I'm gonna go balls to the wall and pick the big bad Fireball. Who doesn't love a shot you don't have to chase?! He hasn't always been my friend the next day though...

Full House or Family Matters: Definitely Full House. I bet you know all the words to that theme song amiright??

Dumbledore or Gandalf: Big D all the way!

Dying Easter eggs or Carving pumpkins: Carving pumpkins and not because I love fall. I HATE hate the smell of hard boiled eggs. Makes my stomach churn just thinking about them. UGH

NFL or NCAAF: Probably NCAAF. Go Huskies!!!!!

A hangover forever or sobriety forever: Even though a hangover is usually brought on by a completely awesome night prior, I have had some doozies. I unfortunately would have to be sober Sally.

January or July: Our wedding anniversary is in July so that's a goooood month!

Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus: Hands down Miley Cyrus. I may not agree with her behavior but she is entertaining! Its like a run-away train I can't take my eyes off!

Shark Week or Fashion Week: Shark week alone has caused an even greater phobia of open water for me. But if we are being honest I really don't like any water an animal joins me while swimming. Gimme a pool any day! So back to the questions-Fashion Week!

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Saved by the Bell: Another great Theme song we all know the words to. The 90s had it figured out. The winner in my book has to be Saved by the Bell though. The characters were amaze balls. I can't even pick a favorite!

Britney or Christina: B. Spears forever.

Burrito or Burrito Bowl: Tortillas are probably my favorite form of carb. They are soooo versatile. Wrap my amazing Mexican goodness up please.

Reading blogs on your phone or reading blogs on your computer: On the computer so I can actually see the photos! I hate zooming in and out to see the picture and then read the post.

Angelina or Jennifer: Jennifer. All day, every day.

Doug Funny or The Rugrats: Doug Funny. Who couldn't relate that show. Plus it made from some legit Halloween costumes!

An open mouth chewer or a heavy breather: I am currently married to a chomper which is pretty similar to an open mouth chewer. I have learned to live with it!

As you can see this was a pretty legit list and linkup. Won't you join the party?!

Who doesn't love that a comfy sweatshirt can be thrown on and rocked with heels? Oxymoron I think not! This compilation is great for a laid back yet feminine look. Sweatshirt = $10.00
Pencil Skirt = $14.00
Necklace = $6.80
Heels = $14.98
Total = $45.78

Denim for Days

I enjoy looking at blog posts that give multiple ways to wear a look. Everyone talks about staple pieces and this is a way to prove how interchangeable an item really is.

The piece I picked to style 3 ways is not necessarily exciting, but it is a staple and one that should be considered versatile.

A denim shirt is both trendy, comfortable, and affordable. Those are the three characteristics I consider before purchasing anything. Shoes and comfort don't always go hand-in-hand, but beauty is pain right? Riiiight!

I recently purchased this denim button up from H&M online and I highly suggest you go get yourself one!

I wore this casual option to work yesterday and it helped me over my case of the Mondays. The cheery yellow skinnies and sassy leopard flats were easy to pair with the button up. This was the bag I found on Saturday at TJ Maxx. Such a great find!

This skirt is a recent find at H&M too and I love it and its $12.95 price tag. I think I can speak for us all when I say how happy it makes me that H&M has an online presence. The outfit below is probably my favorite out of all three.

Finally, the more dressy outfit that I still wanted to dress down. In the past I would throw a blazer over this dress, but denim allows for me to wear this dress to a more casual setting. Add a leopard print clutch and you have perfection (in my book).

Never would I thought I would love denim this much! I may even attempt to rock the Canadian tuxedo, denim on denim. The Canadians are onto something. I can already picture so many more outfits this button up will work with. I may need to invest in a few more!

What's an item you love to mix multiple ways? Which outfit is your favorite?
